Does this fold up and away like the fold-a-bed that you sell? I want the fold a bed --- but in queen size!!
Answer: The footrest folds up underneath the seat, but the back does not fold down flat. You can remove the back fairly easily by removing 2 pins. -

What is the space (in inches) between the slats?
Answer: 3 1/2 inches per my tape. -

Can you lift the foot rest up all the way up with the back still up? I like to sit up with my legs straight out in front of me, not really downward.
Answer: Yes, you can have the back up with the rest out flat. -

Will this work with japanese type futons?
Answer: Hi. I believe any type of futon would work with this frame, but most certainly a Japanese futon. -

Will this be sturdy enough for a heavy tempurpedic mattress?
Answer: The middle section of this frame starts to sag after a couple months or so. I'm using a futon mattress though. Overall I wouldn't say this frame is super sturdy.
