Is there a noticeable odor to this varnish? I want to use it for a bathroom vanity over a gloss finish.
Answer: Any varnish will provide some odor when it flashes off and hardens. I have not found the amount to e a problem even in close areas. Surface preparation is the key. -

How many coats on a 9 ft table top can I get out of a 1000 ml can?
Answer: 1000 ml is sufficient for 140 sq. ft @ 1 mil dry film thickness. -

Does Rubbed effect varnish have as much U/V protectors as regular exterior gloss epifanes?
Answer: Hello, Rubbed Effect is an interior only. Satin and Matte products( no matter brand) have low UV . Best UV comes in gloss resins. We suggest using gloss for 7-8 coats then topping with Wood Finish Matte for last 1-2. This will give you UV protection. -
Question:
Is it good as a floor varnish
Answer: I haven't used it as floor varnish, but I have used it in some very high end furniture.Floor usage shouldn't be a problem though as it's used for boat finishes, so it should be plenty tough.It spreads beautifully and finishes equally well. Of course, It's not cheap. but you get what you pay for.I wholeheartedly endorse this product. -

Can this be applied by tubing in with a rag over a build up of gloss finish?
Answer: Hello , we do not recommend using a rag to rub in. it is really thick compared to most varnishes. natural bristle brush is best to use. -

Do you have s color called bootslack. the bin number is 65 on the can. it is a deep green. thanks.
Answer: Sorry, no colors...just clear varnish. -

Is this product okay to use on cooking area surface such as counter top? What about cutting board - food prep?

Should this be thinned before use?
Answer: Yes, it should be thinned, there's a lot of opinions about this, but I put 7 coats on my cabin sole and I think the first coat was thinned about 70%. Then I slightly increase the concentration each successive coat. All coats are an approximation, I'm not trying to be perfect, but the results are terrific. The last coat was probably thinned about 25% or so. I love the stuff. Epifanes has a great instructional section on their site.
