The Evans Bass Drum Heads BD22EMADHW is a 22-inch heavyweight clear bass drum head designed for a batter head use. It has two high-performance 10 mil plies that provide a muffled sound even without using the two included foam dampening rings. The rings, which can be inserted inside the plastic collar that is attached to the head's outer perimeter, offer different levels of attack and dampening options. The head has a deep, fat, punchy kick sound with minimal overtones. The head is compatible with various bass drum brands, but users need to ensure that the head's hoop fits the drum's hoop. The EMAD heavyweight is thicker than the EMAD2, which has a 6-millimetre film on the outside and 10-millimetre film on the inside. The head's level 360 ensures that it conforms to the drum's bearing edges and offers optimal tone and pitch.
