    Answer: The alarm will sound like a powerful siren or barking dog as soon as the doorknob is touched, warning you that someone is trying to enter.

    Answer: No, this product does not require any installation. It is easy to use without the need for any tools.

    Answer: This product uses one 9-volt battery for operation.

    Answer: I imagine that the bar would work well on carpets. Positioning the bar was not the problem for me. The alarm adjustment did not work for me.
  • Question: How do you get the volume to work. Mine either sounds nonstop or doesn't sound when door is touched.

    Answer: Ours works just fine. We use one at the end of the day when we lock up on our side warehouse doors. Unless batteries were low.

    Answer: The dog sound is not great, weak and not loud enough. The siren on it is okay. I use it just for extra security on a back door.

    Answer: I'm sure you can use it on carpet, tiles, sand, mud, snow, ice, slush, lava or liquid nitrogen and not end up with a worse result than I did, using it on a wooden floor. Because the top of the security bar just broke off, ensuring that the damned thing didn't really do what it was supposed to do in the first place.

    Answer: No, it won't work on a door that opens outwards. It won't work on a door that opens inwards either, because the top of it will just break off. What a brilliant product.

    Answer: Yes, the alarm sounds very much like a barking dog. My experience was that the 'dog' never stops barking.
  • Question: If a medium-sized human being bodyslams the door, is the top of the security bar supposed to break off?

    Answer: I can't see why the top would break, was it secured correctly?
