9th Level Games Board Games 9LG1980 Editorial Review
The 9th Level Games Mazes: Fantasy Roleplaying - Reforged hardcover RPG book presents a unique and accessible entry into the world of tabletop role-playing games, catering especially well to players seeking a streamlined and inventive experience. Many customers resonate with its refreshing take on character progression, as it allows for growth based on player input and creativity rather than tedious number-crunching typical of other systems. Reviewers appreciate the game's quick setup, noting that character creation could take as little as five minutes, while crafting engaging quests is achievable in about half an hour. Parents and seasoned gamers alike are drawn to the balance of simplicity and depth that Mazes offers, particularly in the light of time Constraints in modern gaming. The shared enjoyment of customization and storytelling possibilities among players—especially through its engaging "mundane" magic and innovative use of flashbacks—clearly enhances gameplay and fosters creativity among groups. Although a minority of reviews highlight some challenges with the clarity of the rules, particularly for those well-versed in longer, more complex RPGs, many feel that a little practice and exploration could yield greater understanding and enjoyment. Overall, Mazes has captured the imagination of players looking for a rules-light RPG that doesn’t compromise on fun, creativity, and collaborative storytelling. **
