    Answer: No, the cord ends have different NEMA numbers. A 3 prong 250 volt 30 amp is NEMA 6-30, while a 4 prong 250 volt 50 amp is NEMA 15-50.
  • Question: Why does the female end of the cord feel loose after plugging it into the power inlet box?

    Answer: You need to twist the end about a quarter turn after inserting. Look for the contacts in the socket and on the side of the plug, and it will be obvious which way to turn.
  • Question: Is it easier to connect the female connector to an outlet box with more experience?

    Answer: Because the cable and plug are large, it does take some push/shove and twist to get the connector to fit. Make sure the female and male connectors are compatible, as some configurations that look similar may have slight differences. Check the part/model numbers of both and verify compatibility online.

    Answer: The generator has a 14-50R receptacle, so you will need a NEMA 14-50P male cord cap on one side of the umbilical cord going into the generator, and a HBL2813 female cord cap on the other side of the umbilical cord to plug into the CS6375 receptacle you would be using to feed emergency power to your house.
