    Answer: I don't know the decibel rating, but it is moderately noisy. Combined with the noise of the foredom, I prefer to wear ear protection just for safety's sake although it probably isn't necessary. It comes with one filter. I gently knock the sawdust out of the filter when it is clogged, and vacuum carefully. I got my unit for Christmas 17 months ago and am still using the original filter, although the cardboard case is about ruined from handling and I just ordered a new filter.

    Answer: I don't know how many decibels the unit runs at, but it's fairly quiet. No need for a bag as the filter is designed to capture the dust particles.

    Answer: It doesn't have a part # on it. Wood Carvers Supply carries them.It is their part #888002 @ 12.95. Phone # is 1-800-284 -6229. Filter measures 2 x 10 x20. Good luck!

    Answer: I'm pretty sure that this uses something similar to a common computer fan, which would be then be brushless.

    Answer: Sorry I wish I could help, but it's not as efficient as I would have liked.

    Answer: The unit has two plugs for other electrical uses. I have not tried to use them because I have a another electrical outlet that I use for my Dremel tools and sanders, so I don't know how much of a power drain that there would be on the unit if other tools were also being used. The unit works well for the hobbyist like me but if you are going to be doing heavy duty woodworking this unit will not fit your needs.
  • Question: With the clear sides on the unit, what is the measurement front to back.?

    Answer: With the clear side attached the overall measurement is 16 1/2 inch
  • Question: Does it have, or is a hood available

    Answer: Mine came with a left, right and top plexiglass panels that velcro together making a kind of cover for your work. That is a close to a hood as it gets, but it works pretty well...i still wear a good dust mask anyway. Hope this helps.
