Pasarofça Antlaşması müzakere heyetinde görevlendirildi. Burada Avrupalı diplomatlar üzerinde büyük bir etki yarattı. Bu sayede 1720-21de Pariste elçi olarak görev yaptı. Elçilik raporu olarak yazdığı bu metin, yazıldığından beri hem yerli hem yabancı pek çok çalışmaya konu olmuştur.
